Privacy policy
What we collect through this website, through calls and through text messages — and what we do with it. Effective September 1, 2026.
1. The short version
We use what you send us to fix your truck and to talk to you about fixing your truck. Nothing else.
We do not sell your information. We do not rent it. We do not trade it. We do not share your phone number or the content of your messages with anyone for marketing, and we never will.
2. Who this covers
This policy applies to the HD Diesel Repair Shop website and to the calls and text messages you exchange with our shops. It covers HD Diesel LLC, which operates HD Diesel Repair Shop in Killdeer and Williston, North Dakota, and Sunrise Diesel LLC, which operates Sunrise Diesel Repair Shop in Dickinson, North Dakota.
Effective September 1, 2026.
3. What you give us directly
If you fill in the contact form we receive your name, your phone number, an email address if you choose to give one, which shop you picked, what kind of work you selected, and whatever you write in the message box.
If you call us or come to the counter we may write down your name, your phone number, your company, the unit, and what it is doing — the ordinary information any shop needs to book and do a repair.
We do not ask for and we do not want payment card numbers, bank details, driver's license numbers, social security numbers or any other sensitive identifier through this website. Please do not send them through the form.
4. What is collected automatically when you visit
Like nearly every website, this one is delivered by a hosting company whose servers keep standard access logs. Those logs typically record the internet address your visit came from, the type of device and browser you used, which pages you opened, and the date and time. That happens for every visitor, including ones who never contact us, and it is how a host keeps a site running and secure.
When you submit the form, the submission is recorded with the date and time it was received.
We do not use this information to build a profile of you and we do not try to identify you from it.
5. Phone calls and text messages
When you give us your phone number, we may call or text that number about your truck and the work you have asked us to do — confirming an appointment, asking about the unit, telling you a part is in, telling you the job is finished, or following up afterward.
We keep the number, and we may keep the messages, as part of the record of your job. That record is used for your repair and for the ordinary business record-keeping any shop has to do.
This is service messaging about your own job. It is not a marketing list. Message and data rates may apply depending on your plan and your carrier, and carriers do not guarantee delivery of any message.
Reply STOP to any text from us to stop the messages, or just tell us. Reply HELP and we will tell you how to reach us.
Your phone number and the content of your messages are never sold, rented or shared for marketing, by us or by anyone acting for us.
6. How we use what we have
To get back to you about the repair you asked about, to schedule it, to carry it out, to order the right parts, to bill for it, and to answer questions about it afterward.
To keep the records a business is expected to keep about work it has performed.
To keep the website working and to deal with abuse of it.
We do not add you to a marketing list because you contacted us about a broken truck.
7. Who else can see it
Our hosting provider, Netlify, delivers this website and passes contact-form submissions to us before we receive them.
Our phone and messaging carrier carries our calls and text messages, as any carrier does.
Our email provider carries the notification of your inquiry to us.
Where a repair needs it, a parts supplier or a specialist shop may be told what is needed for your unit — not your personal details beyond what the job requires.
These companies handle the information to provide their service to us and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes. Beyond them, nobody else sees it, and we will only disclose information where a law or a valid legal request requires it, or where it is necessary to protect someone's safety.
8. Cookies and embedded content
This site uses Google Analytics to count visits and to see which pages get read, and Google Analytics sets cookies to do that. The site does not set advertising cookies and carries no advertising or social tracking pixels.
The locations page and the contact page embed a map so you can find a shop. That map is served by Google, and Google may set its own cookies and receive information about your visit when the map loads or when you interact with it. That is Google's own processing under Google's own privacy policy, not ours. If you would rather not load it, the addresses and phone numbers are printed on the page in plain text.
Most browsers let you block or delete cookies in their settings.
9. How long we keep it
An inquiry that never becomes a job is kept only as long as it is useful to follow up on, and is then deleted.
Records about work we actually performed — the repair order, the invoice and what was done — are kept for as long as a business is expected to keep them, because you may need that history and so may a future owner of the unit.
Website access logs are kept for the limited period our hosting provider retains them.
10. How we look after it
The website is served over an encrypted connection. Access to inquiries and customer records is limited to the people who need it to do the work.
No system is perfectly secure, and we will not pretend otherwise. Please do not send anything highly sensitive through a web form — call us instead.
11. Your choices
You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct something that is wrong, or ask us to delete what we are not required to keep. Call any of our shops and say so. There is no form to fill out and it costs you nothing to ask.
You can tell us to stop texting you at any time by replying STOP or by telling us directly.
If we cannot delete something because we are required to keep it — a repair record, for example — we will tell you that plainly rather than ignoring the request.
12. Children
This is a commercial truck and equipment repair website. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has sent us information, call us and we will delete it.
13. Links to other sites
Where this site links out, those sites have their own privacy practices and we are not responsible for them. This policy covers only this website and our own contact with you.
14. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version is published on this page and the effective date at the top is changed. Continuing to use the site after that means you accept it. If a change ever materially affects how we handle information you have already given us, we will say so here rather than quietly editing the page.
